NYC Engagement Photography at The High Line | Samantha + Eugene

What a beautiful spring day at the High Line in Chelsea with our lovely couple Samantha and Eugene! So happy to have been a part of their NYC engagement photography shoot and everyone had  a blast. I love it when couples come in and bring props and want to integrate a special something that means a lot in their relationship. Samantha and Eugene met long before they started dating, but their mutual attraction was still strong with the same "spark" that they just hit it off. They have been seeing each other for almost five years and one day, by the High Line after having dinner at Morimoto, Eugene proposed and Samantha said...something that was not in the dictionary since she was shocked and emotional ..which really meant a "YES!" NYC Wedding Photography in Queens Jamaica Estates | Mia & Neil Taylor

Congratulations to Carmencita and Neil! The new Mr. and Mrs. Taylor were married on April 13, 2013 in Jamaica Estates, Queens NY. The groom and his father and groomsmen arrived at the church in a limo, but the bride arrived in style in a red sports car with the top down for all of Queens, NY to see! Neil's family are from Michigan, so for the Taylor family, this NYC Wedding is a destination wedding they will always remember! The groom surprised the bride with a few signs he created....yes, Neil was the sweetheart who had the idea of having these gorgeous signs made, especially the "FINISH LINE" sign they walked through during the reception! That was definitely my favorite sign idea and inspiration next to the "He stole my heart/She stole my sandwich" sign! How very creative and such a DIY photo idea for their wedding! After the ceremony the bridal party was off to Gaby's Pizza where Mia and Neil enjoyed their last NYC pizza...for now...since they were moving to Michigan a few days after the wedding. Everyone will of course miss them, but NYC is not saying goodbye to the dynamic duo. We're sure these marathon runners will come back to visit, even if they have to run from Michigan to NY! For those that do not know, Mia and Neil were living in two different states so for their wedding they wanted a "travel" theme to showcase that love does conquer all. The theme was incorporated by Ivie Joy Flowers + Events in the design of the venue, and Mia's sister, Maricar-Joy designed stationary items that showcased a travel theme as well. There is actually a correlation between Mia and Neil's favorite verse in the Bible and their wedding date, 4.13.13: "We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us." God has definitely watched over them through their journey and I am sure He is happy to be guiding them further in their newest journey. As you watch Mia and Neil dance to "Lucky" by Jason Mraz, you can feel their love for one another and the sigh of delight to finally be with the one person you are meant to be. We're all very thankful to have witnessed your special day!

Margie and Jorge met at a wedding of their very good friends. When Margie became ill when they first started dating, Jorge stood by her side, helped encouraged her to be positive, and nursed her when needed until she was strong enough and was able to get back to work. Jorge jokingly said they watched a lot of infomercials all night like it was a movie premiere! He realized her company was amazing and well worth it, and just wanted to be with her even more. When Margie decided to learn how to cook for Jorge, he knew he found the one. Their wedding was a fun-filled beautiful day at the Pelham Bay & Split Rock Golf Courses. NYC Engagement Photographer in Brooklyn's DUMBO | Allison & Sean

So happy to be able to share this fun and unique NYC engagement photographer session in Brooklyn's DUMBO! The day was windy and a bit cool...ok COLD for spring, but Allison and Sean were in great spirits and came with an arsenal of props! Take a look at the large white balloons they brought for this NYC wedding photographer and I just swooned! Add the balloons and two architects with great fashion sense, I was in photography heaven! Allison and Sean both went to the School of Architecture and were friends in school and realized before graduating that this very good friend of theirs is actually "THE ONE" they want to be with. Here's the proposal sorry....from His side and her side!

Sean's story: "The date had been on my radar for the better part of a year. Ali’s birthday is April 2nd so I was thinking she may have been expecting that to be the big day. Instead, I thought the 10th anniversary of our “first date” would be more fitting, hoping that it had slipped off her radar a bit (it did). As it turned out we had tickets for a concert that night also. I suggested earlier in the day that we go for a walk before going out for dinner. So we walked to the dog park that Ali loves so we could watch the dogs play for a while, on the way passing Love Street in Brooklyn Heights (if I needed any sign to say this was the perfect day, that was it). After that we walked over to the Promenade, which is one of the first places we saw when we first came to Brooklyn together. At that point I said to her “When we went to that concert together that one night that 10 years later I would do what I am about to do” And I got on one knee and proposed!"

Ali's version: "Sean wanted to go for a walk before going out to dinner and the concert. We were both getting over colds and it was chilly out, so initially I got a little suspicious, but we love walks so I was up for it! We walked up to Brooklyn Heights to watch the dogs play at the dog park (I love dogs!) and then walked to the Promenade. We stopped and took in the view towards Manhattan and then Sean asked if I remember what happened exactly 10 years ago. At first I couldn’t remember and then realized it had been 10 years since our “first date”. When I saw him get down on one knee, I burst into tears and said yes! I couldn’t stop crying I was so happy. We then walked back to Love Street to take a picture before calling my parents with the big news!"

NYC Engagement Photography in New York's Grand Central Terminal & The Library Rooftop | Mollie & Brian

This New York Wedding photographer has been dying to share these photos from Mollie Riester and Brian Young's NYC engagement photography in Grand Central Terminal! They are such an amazing couple and meeting them makes me fall in love with love all over again! Mollie and Brian met in Buffalo, NY through a series of connections that eventually led them to meet one another one fateful day. Brian moved to Buffalo to pursue a research year while applying to medical school. He moved in with his brother, who happened to be dating Mollie's older sister's best friend.... yes I had to connect the dots too! In any case, Brian's career led him to the Children's Hospital, where Mollie's mother happened to work and life had him and Mollie meeting briefly at a camp for children with Spina Bifida. It wasn't until a hosted Christmas dinner in 2010 did Mollie and Brian actually get to speak with one another. A few rounds of Scattergories later, the two hit it off and had their first date on Christmas Eve.

The Proposal: "Brian and Mollie had planned a weekend in North Carolina; to explore the Raleigh-Durham area in coordination with Brian's interview for a surgical residency position. Early in the week, Brian told Mollie that they'd be attending a dinner Saturday evening, accompanied by residents from Duke University. Mollie didn't think this was out of the ordinary, and was thrilled that Brian and her would be able to spend the evening with these important individuals. In the evening of Oct 27th, Mollie and Brian began driving out to the restaurant. After a half hour of driving, Mollie was really wondering where this place was, but not at all suspicious. When they turned into The Fearrington Village, Mollie was amazed: a farm gave way to a village lined with perfect little colonial-style buildings, adorned with lanterns and tree lights. They walked along the winding cobblestone pathways up to a beautiful restaurant, and there, in front of whitewashed Adirondack chairs and an incredible pink sunset: Brian proposed. Mollie, was in complete shock that Brian managed to pull off this elaborate surprise, and was soon told that they would be enjoying a five diamond gourmet meal, at the toast of North Carolina: The Fearrington House. The rest of the evening was filled with champagne by firelight, wine-paired farm-to-fork courses, a chocolate soufflé prepared table side; and of course: love and joy." ....this written by our groom! Sigh!

They both recently just moved to Washington DC since Brian is continuing his medical career there and Mollie just got a job working in Congress! I'm so proud of them and all their had work. They truly deserve all the happiness. Even though they're now in D.C., I'm very ecstatic to add Mollie and Brian to the Angelica Criscuolo Photography family! I cannot wait to capture their wedding in Buffalo at St. Mark's Church next June with a reception at the Buffalo Yacht Club. Counting down the days already! We love going to Buffalo (and maybe going over to Niagara Falls!) since Matt (my very supportive, loving husband and partner) attended D'Youville and currently getting his Doctorate so, YES, we LOVE Buffalo!

This New Jersey Wedding photographer is very excited to share this picnic theme engagement photo session held at Sandy Hook Beach NJ and Fort Hancock! If you remember from our Facebook posts, Rob concocted a surprise proposal back in March 2013 and that story is below with a few photos from that fateful day. From their proposal to their engagement, it was really great capturing them in front of my camera once again. When two people are really in love, you can't help but we swept into the moment. Gina and Rob wanted a picnic theme, and boy did they deliver! I think me and Matt were staring at the pudding Gina created since it just looked too yummy. After the beach we explored Fort Hancock near Sandy Hook Beach. I've been to Fort Hancock once before, but to be there with a fun couple is even better! Below are a few photos from Gina and Rob's engagement session and read further below for Rob's amazing plan for the surprise proposal!

On March 28, 2013, during a beautiful early evening in Westfield, NJ, Rob asked Gina to have dessert at Bovella's Pastry Shoppe on East Broad St. With the help of the friendly workers at Bovella's Pastry Shoppe, Rob set into motion what will be one of the biggest events of his and Gina's life!

The PLAN: Bring Gina around 7:30pm to have dessert. Have photographer act as a patron just spending time at the bakery with hubby enjoying our own dessert and tea! Rob made sure to sit by the window, best seat in the house, for photographer to get a great view of the two of them. Once Rob and Gina are seated, he'll give her a photo album that Sandy, Gina's wonderful mom, helped Rob put together. After going through the album, Brian from Bovella's Pastry Shoppe will bring out a large tray of cookies with a small ceramic case that looks like an Oreo on top! MMMM....Oreos! Gina will open the box, find the ring, and Rob will say those wonderful words a woman in-love is waiting to hear. As you can see, everything went according to plan! Rob pulled it all off and Gina's beautiful, tearful, happy face was captured in photos. After the proposal, their families who were waiting a block away at a nearby bar came by with champagne to celebrate Rob and Gina's new journey together!

Below are a few photos from the surprise proposal!!!We're really glad we were there literally from the beginning! To witness the proposal, capture the engagement and then to top it with the wedding next year is truly what we look forward to...growing with each of our couples as they start with a new adventure and ongoing journey! We cannot wait until 2014!!!

Feeling cold? Here's a New York engagement photographer session that will surely warm you up and thinking of spring and summer! Fun engagement photos taken by NYC's Brooklyn Bridge and DUMBO area with Ketti and Arpit! Even with the crowds beating down on the Brooklyn Bridge and bicyclist biking rampant, we managed to feel it was just us on that bridge, since let's face it, when love is what we're trying to capture, the bride and groom is all that matters. So many areas of DUMBO we love (that's where we had our own engagement session after all!) so it's always dear to our hearts…but being on the bridge…that's the cherry on top. Destination Weddings Trash the Dress Photo on a Caribbean Beach!

This has been a long time coming, so I’m very excited to share this amazing destination wedding trash-the-dress photo session in the Caribbean. After a fun night of partying the night away in Barbados, Kristy and Phil put on their formal wear one last time to have fun on the white sandy beaches by The Crane Residential Resorts. The backdrop of the beach was not just the beautiful blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean, but the gorgeous cliffs of The Crane, which provided a few shades during most of the session. One tip for photographers who shoots destination weddings or any wedding, make sure to note the time sunrise and sunset occurs. It’s easy enough to Google the time so this way you hit the golden hour when shooting on the beach…it’s also a good thing to actually ask the residents the approximate time the sun goes up.  I should have done this since what we thought was early was not early enough. Even with the sun already high in the sky, we made do and still had fun. With filters on my lens to help with the surrounding background light, we got amazing shots with the helps of an off-camera lighting set-up and my handy Flashpoint reflector from Adorama.

Trash the dress sessions, with a beautiful blue sky and beach backdrop, is always an amazing photo shoot to have. The bride and groom are already relaxed after  their big day, so this day after session is just for the two of them. There are no restrictions, no boundaries, and yes they can get dirty and jump in the ocean if they want to...and these two did!

NYC Wedding Engagement Photos - Janice&Paul-The High Line

So happy to share this NYC engagement session at The High Line! First month of spring and even with the chili weather, Janice Diaz and Paul Kelley are just amazing on and off-camera. New York City Wedding Angel Orensanz Foundation - Nicole + Marco - Photographer's Day off

This is a personal blog in which I wanted to share my time enjoying a wedding of one of my closest friends Nicole and her new husband Marco. Lately my husband and I rarely attend weddings since I'm always the one shooting them! The first year my husband and I met in 2008, we went to about 6 weddings. For the first year of dating, he must have wanted to stick around if he liked taking me to weddings! This time around, we dressed up to witness the beautiful union of a friend who has climbed mountains and ran miles in many marathons, to finally run into her one and only. They met while picking up their numbers for a marathon and the rest was history.  Congratulations Nicole and Marco! Your first dance truly depicted your love for one another. Yes, this New York wedding photographer couldn't help but bring her camera...I had to remember the wedding as I saw it!

New York Engagement photos - Intrepid Sea, Space, Air Museum - Morgan + Jonathan from North Carolina

I'm very excited to share these romantic and fun photos from Morgan and Jonathan's New York engagement session! Morgan once worked at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space museum as a tour guide when she lived in New York City. Love how NYC brings in people from other states, and for three years Morgan lived in the City that Never Sleeps with her best friend. Jon is a U.S. Marine  (Oorah!) and his ship docked at a pier by the museum during Fleet week, and that's how they met (who doesn't love a man in uniform!). Currently stationed in Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, the lovebirds really wanted their New York engagement photography to be done where they met. The fun NYC engagement session was done in the middle of the afternoon, but I wanted to give a variety and one of the shots was done with camera magic (no photoshop!) and made it look like it's during sunset. The rest is made with the beautiful couple's personality and they were just amazing to work with. Even though we were in the middle of December, it felt like a warm day (thanks to a flask of whisky care of the groom that saved us from frostbite) and it got warmer once everyone started to relax and enjoy the session. Congratulations Morgan and Jonathan! Here's to a lifetime of happiness.
