So happy to be able to share this fun and unique NYC engagement photographer session in Brooklyn's DUMBO! The day was windy and a bit cool...ok COLD for spring, but Allison and Sean were in great spirits and came with an arsenal of props! Take a look at the large white balloons they brought for this NYC wedding photographer and I just swooned! Add the balloons and two architects with great fashion sense, I was in photography heaven! Allison and Sean both went to the School of Architecture and were friends in school and realized before graduating that this very good friend of theirs is actually "THE ONE" they want to be with. Here's the proposal sorry....from His side and her side!
Sean's story: "The date had been on my radar for the better part of a year. Ali’s birthday is April 2nd so I was thinking she may have been expecting that to be the big day. Instead, I thought the 10th anniversary of our “first date” would be more fitting, hoping that it had slipped off her radar a bit (it did). As it turned out we had tickets for a concert that night also. I suggested earlier in the day that we go for a walk before going out for dinner. So we walked to the dog park that Ali loves so we could watch the dogs play for a while, on the way passing Love Street in Brooklyn Heights (if I needed any sign to say this was the perfect day, that was it). After that we walked over to the Promenade, which is one of the first places we saw when we first came to Brooklyn together. At that point I said to her “When we went to that concert together that one night that 10 years later I would do what I am about to do” And I got on one knee and proposed!"
Ali's version: "Sean wanted to go for a walk before going out to dinner and the concert. We were both getting over colds and it was chilly out, so initially I got a little suspicious, but we love walks so I was up for it! We walked up to Brooklyn Heights to watch the dogs play at the dog park (I love dogs!) and then walked to the Promenade. We stopped and took in the view towards Manhattan and then Sean asked if I remember what happened exactly 10 years ago. At first I couldn’t remember and then realized it had been 10 years since our “first date”. When I saw him get down on one knee, I burst into tears and said yes! I couldn’t stop crying I was so happy. We then walked back to Love Street to take a picture before calling my parents with the big news!"
