New York City Surprise Marriage Proposal Engagement - Kimberly Hotel

New York City is the city that never sleeps. That’s why many people come to this great city to enjoy the nightlife. Even when you’re from the area, you want to make sure that the city you love is incorporated in your special moments. Every year, people want to photograph the majestic beauty of NYC. When you’re on a rooftop, you want to be embraced in the concrete jungle. That’s what Raymond had in mind, to incorporate the feel of NYC in the surprise engagement proposal he had planned, where he asked his beautiful girlfriend, now fiance Meredith, her hand in marriage!

The Kimberly Hotel was a great choice with their balcony overlooking the many skyscrapers of NYC. Her parents actually were hidden away, and they laid down the scene! Literally! They put the floral petals down, placed the champagne for the toast, and the bouquet to be given after. Who doesn’t want to be proposed to on a New York City rooftop? It was just magical and I wish all the very best to the young couple starting their journey. I love proposals, capturing them and sharing them is what I love to do. Helping capture these moments so my couples can relive it time and again is priceless. I’m humbled to be a part of it!

Central Park & Brooklyn Bridge Engagement Photos

Sharing these fantastic engagement photographs of Rebecca and Danny before revealing their wedding photos in a few weeks! I enjoyed capturing them in their element as we wandered Central Park and Brooklyn’s DUMBO. The first set of photos below were taken by Jane’s Carousel in front of the former Domino’s sugar factory. We walked around the area, taking pictures in front of the Brooklyn Bridge as a backdrop, a NYC sculpture set on the great lawn, and an indoor park where we created a sunny sunset in the middle of the afternoon.

The second set was set during a drizzly day in Central Park’s Bethesda Terrace. Despite the weather, they looked romantic the arches as a setting, the famous fountain, and by Bow Bridge. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom, and as any New Yorker knows, those few days when the trees are in full bloom is a stroke of luck to catch for any photo session! We were truly blessed with the beautiful scenery for these two love-birds who met three years ago through a mutual friend, whom today are inseparable. I’m very honored to have met them and captured their engagement session and their wedding photos. I hope you enjoy them and give them some love!

NYC Wedding Surprise Proposal in Central Park - Gapstow Bridge

These two lovely couple from DC had the time of their lives in New York! Little did she know that a surprise marriage proposal was planned. The Groom contacted me and we worked out the details of where I will be, what he envisioned for the photos, and what to expect after. Gapstow Bridge in Central Park is a great NYC surprise proposal location, and it just works with the beautiful iconic backdrop.

Here are some more teasers from Alena and Matt's surprise proposal!!! These two Washington DC residents were such a pleasure to photograph in Central Park New York by Gapstow bridge...(known by many as the Home Alone Bridge). I LOVE capturing New York City wedding proposal photography and this was definitely one of the best!!! More and more couples are booking me to capture the proposal and the engagement session to follow and I am always honored to do so. Being there from the beginning really is a remarkable experience. Seeing Alena's surprised face, hearing her joyous laugh, and watching Matt get down on one knee, well we can't help but sigh through it all. What a romantic day! Enjoy these fave photos of A & M! NYC Engagement Photographer - Central Park | Megan & Paul

I love spring! Brings out all the love birds and so happy that Megan and Paul are one of them! I really enjoyed this NYC engagement photography session in Central Park. When I first met Megan and Paul, granted it was one of the warmer days we've had in spring, but Megan just glowed in her gorgeous grey lace dress (I think it was a Diane Von Furstenberg dress and I'm sure of it since I was just in love with how great she looks in it!) and Paul was just ruggedly handsome trying their best to stay cool on such an unusual warm spring day. Regardless, we were off for our photo session and just put them in front of blooming flowers and it was just magic. With their blue eyes sparkling, and their love for one another just showing naturally, my NYC Photographer brain was just in full swing with photo ideas. I'm so glad to have met Megan and Paul! New York Engagement Photographer in Central Park Manhattan | Victoria + Geoffrey

Geoffrey is from Pennsylvania, USA, Victoria is from Scotland. These two definitely make a great pair and to prepare for their Scotland Wedding Photos this Fall, we captured their New York engagement photos in Central Park. Being a photographer who loves destination weddings, I just love it when couples travel to me! It definitely is a great feeling to have a beautiful couple become relax and just enjoy while a large camera is in front of them. I wanted Victoria and Geoffrey to feel like they own the camera and that they can do anything! As their engagement photos progressed, and we walked around great areas in Central Park in Manhattan, we just captured great New York engagement photo feel to their session. PS for the photographers out there wanting to know what gear I used, I have my Canon Mark III along with Canon lenses from 70-200L II f/2.8, 35mm f/1.4L, 100macro f/2.8L as well as the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 Art Lens for Canon. Many of the photos below I even used the 100 macro f/2.8 as a portrait lens.
