How do you plan a destination wedding? We've developed some pointers on getting started planning a destination wedding, outside of general wedding planning tips. As a New York City-based wedding photographer, destination weddings are dear to my heart. My husband and I loved our destination wedding, and planning your own does not have to be complicated. Here are a few steps to consider when planning your wedding at your dream destination.

Many hearts broke when the world heard that a massive fire engulfed Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France. The historical landmark, and house of worship, took 182 years to build (starting from 1163AD to 1345AD) and yet, the massive structure was burnt in just a few hours, bringing down a big part of Paris’ history. As of this morning, it’s good to know that the beautiful Rose Windows, made of 13th Century Glass, survived, as well as the main bell, Emanuelle - rang to signal to Parisians the end of World War II, the facade and the two bell towers (previously the tallest structure in Paris until the Eiffel Tower), the cathedral Great Organ, and a few relics including the Crown of Thorns, thought to have been placed on the head of Jesus.

The last time my husband and I saw the beauty of the church was just this past fall when we celebrated our 8-year anniversary. A long layover in Paris from Vienna allowed us to grab a quick lunch in front of Notre Dame before our evening flight. Prior to our quick visit, we celebrated our 3-year anniversary in Paris and Rome in 2013. That year, I said many prayers inside the church, and we were fortunate to witness a full mass taking place. The glorious towering towers, the haunting beauty of the architecture within, will always be in our memories.

I haven’t shared many of the photos in 2013, here are some from last year (phone photos), and from 2013. It’s not the same as seeing Notre Dame Cathedral, but hopefully a few will still feel as if they were there as they view the photos through my lens.

I had the honor of capturing Jennifer and Brandon's NJ wedding photography! Such a beautiful couple and a wonderful wedding. I couldn't wait to post some teasers, so here are a few I showed during their reception (same day edit). LOVE the red theme and loved Jennifer's red shoes with gold tone accents! The flowers also had the same theme and the bridal party just looked gorgeous. I cannot wait to show more! Jennifer and Brandon are off to Africa today for their honeymoon, which is another reason why I wanted to get these teasers posted! Plus, it's the bride's birthday today! Just a lot to be happy and thankful for and so glad I was a part of it.

This is an amazing start to the Holiday season! It's "quieter" with just engagement sessions and holiday sessions these next few weeks (unless there's a last minute wedding!) and catching up on editing (never mind, that's still a busy schedule), but it seems we seem to be getting a lot of good news lately! Today we just found out that this New York wedding photographer and my team has been voted The Knot Best of Wedding 2014!!! This means we have been voted among the #1 photographers in our market and it's all thanks to all my brides, grooms, couples, clients and more! You all were such a blast to photograph and it's because of your reviews that has shown others that Angelica Criscuolo Photography is truly the photographer for your wedding, engagement, destination weddings and events! I love what I do, and the team I choose love photographing weddings and events. Happy New Year everyone!!! Let's start out the year by looking back to the fabulous NJ Wedding Photography of Jennifer and Brandon! Such a gorgeous fall day and the weather was just perfect. The bridal party got ready at The Hilton in Parsippany-Troy Hills NJ. When I got to the bridal suite, the ladies were getting ready, laughing, smiling and having a great time. Jennifer just finished her hair and getting her makeup done. Great time to get detail shots of her Mori Lee lace dress (GORGEOUS!!!) as well as the bridesmaid's floor-length red strapless dresses. The contrast with the bouquets was amazing. Red, gold...just perfect! By the way, when I saw Jennifer's shoes I was just amazed since they were perfect! The men were taking their time getting ready and Brandon just looked dashing in his tux and white bow-tie. The men headed down to the gazebo to escort Brandon for the first look. I escorted the ladies down and I was nervous!!! One of the best moments, I think, is the first look. Seeing Brandon's reaction to Jennifer being dressed up in her beautiful beaded lace dress, he hair in an up-do and all in all looking like a classic beauty. These two are truly a lucky couple. After a few bridal party portraits by a lake by the church in Pompton Lakes, NJ, we were off the Saint Mary's church for the ceremony. Just a beautiful ceremony and reminds me time and time again why I love shooting weddings. As the bride and groom walk out, they were greeted with bubbles in the air blown by the wedding guest.

As the guests and bridal party head to The Villa in Mountain Lakes New Jersey, everyone was treated to the bride and groom dancing a choreographed dance! "Feels Like Home" by Chantal Krevlazuk was Jennifer and Brandon's first dance song, and looking at them you can definitely feel that they were one with a bright future ahead of them. Everyone danced the night away with a few cigars outdoors for the men, cake for everyone, and love and laughter just everywhere.

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Macaluso!!! I am so very happy for you and happy Angelica Criscuolo Photography was part of it all! As part of Jennifer and Brandon's wedding package, they are enjoying their high resolution images by viewing them on a complimentary iPad! To wrap this up and send it in time for Christmas and before I took time off for the holidays definitely made me feel like Santa. Having amazing brides and groom like Jennifer and Brandon and ensuring they, and all our couples, receive spectacular images that capture all the moments that occurs during a wedding day and ensuring our couples become an integral part of the Angelica Criscuolo Photography family is why we were voted by The Knot Best of Weddings 2013...Thank you!
